It shows that the child can recognize and understand patterns.

Ways to use flashcards

There are lots of fun and educational ways to use flash cards, below there is a list of our favorite ones!

• Play memory game and test both you and your kid´s memory
• To improve vocabulary skills, cover the caption word.
• Color recognition: ask your kid if they can recognize the color of the object on the flashcards
• Practice Alphabet: Arrange the flashcards with the captions in alphabetical order
• Story telling: With the various illustrations or pictures encourage your kid to create a visual story.
• Let´s draw!: Encourage your kid to make his or her own version of the object on the flashcards
• Matching game: Match similar colors of the flashcards.
• You can punch holes in one corner of the cards and keep them together using a binder ring.
• The fast flash game: Have them guess what the card was by flashing it rapidly, hiding it, and then flashing it again.
• Flash card duel!: Stand back-to-back, each holding a different flashcard. Walk three steps away from each other, then turn at the same time to reveal the other person’s card. The first person to say it is the winner!
• Lip reading game: So that the other has to guess, hide the word on the card and lip-read it!

We recommend downloading these files to a computer rather than a phone or tablet.Once you have downloaded the file, you can simply print the image on your home printer, upload the file to the printer of your Choice, or transfer the file to an external drive And take it into your local printer.

After printing your downloads the best way to make sure they last a long time is to laminate them. Laminators are easy to use and relatively cheap considering how much they will improve your downloads and help extend their use for games and activities on the floor and outside. Laminating your cards also lets you write on them with whiteboard markers.

Laminating can be pricey, so if you don’t already have one and know you’ll be doing projects like this in the future, I recommend investing in your own pouch laminator.
